Patient Transporter (NEMT Driver)

U Got A Friend (UGAF) Premium Veteran and Senior In-Home Care serves Oklahoma and provides medical transportation along with home care services. We’re currently looking for patient transport drivers. This job class is responsible for ensuring the safety of clients at all times during trips and for ensuring that the assigned vehicle is in safe operating condition. Job responsibility:

  • Show up to work in a timely manner
  • Operate vehicles such as minivans
  • On arrival assists clients in entering/exiting the van and reaching the destination
  • Comforts patients and their family members by offering support and encouragement
  • Secure wheelchairs and other mobility devices
  • Follow state and federal regulations regarding patient transportation
  • Follow proper protocol for securement of patient without exception
  • Providing information and directions to patients and visitors
  • Provide safe and secure transportation and professional customer service to all passengers
  • Maintain a clean vehicle inside and outside at all times
  • Performs other related duties similar to the above in scope and function, as required.
  • Remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Completes reports at the end of a shift.

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Oklahoma driving license
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Have not had a Driver’s License suspended in the past 3 year
  • Clean DMV record
  • Be able to provide great customer and patient service
  • Must pass a background, drug, and physical test
  • Safety and security minded, able to read and use GPS & other apps
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certifications if not (we will train and certify you if needed)
  • Experience in handling wheelchairs is +
  • EMT++ will be negotiating salary

Qualification:

  • You must be physically fit in order to speak, hear, and see clearly
  • Remain seated and drive a vehicle up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and position patients frequently. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. without assistance.

Position: Part Time

Working Day: Monday to Friday

Experience: 2 years (Preferred)
